About the presenter:

Sue Burzynski Bullard is a retired journalist and journalism professor. She taught editing, reporting, ethics and multimedia classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and at Michigan State University. Before she started teaching, she was a reporter and editor at several newspapers including The Detroit News, where she was the managing editor.  She is a former executive board member of ACES: the Society for Editing and has taught journalists internationally and in the United States for the Poynter Institute for Media Studies.   In 2014, she was named the Society of Professional Journalists’ Distinguished Educator of the Year. In 2011, she wrote “Everybody’s an Editor: Navigating Journalism’s Changing Landscape,” a textbook examining the changing roles of editors in the digital age.  She has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in journalism and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University in administration.
