Package Description

Date: January 18, 2024

Time: 4-5 p.m. ET

Description:

You are invited to join a live moderated Q&A session with members of the ACES Board of Directors. Board members will answer questions during an hour-long Q&A session, speaking directly to questions posed by webcast registrants in lieu of a traditional pre-formatted presentation.

Get to know ACES Board members. What do you want to ask them about their roles within ACES? How about ACES in general, its upcoming offerings and goals? What would you like to know about ACES’ role in the editing world and its commitment to its members and the greater editing community?

Pose your question by filling out this survey. Register to attend the webcast and listen to the discussion. Given time constraints, not all questions posed may be answered.

Please note: The survey will be open through January 15. Those who register after that time can submit their questions to info@aceseditors.org

About ACES

ACES: The Society for Editing is the nation’s leading organization of editing professionals, educators, and students. ACES is dedicated to improving the quality of the written word and the working lives of editors. ACES sets standards of excellence and gives a voice to editors in journalism, government, business, and beyond through top-notch training, networking, and career opportunities.

The Board provides the strategic direction of the organization while supporting the staff in the general management of ACES affairs, including legal issues, growth, fundraising, and educational goals. Board members, who are all volunteers, work on various projects and committees, such as researching topics, contacting sources, organizing meetings, making phone calls and sending emails, writing proposals and newsletter articles, working on surveys and fundraising. The Board contributes to decision-making on matters of association policy and offers suggestions for events and goals. Board members attend the annual in-person conference and the regular annual meeting, as well as other Board meetings.
